WHY GEESE?
The idea of GeesE came to us on the first day of a road trip, chatting about all the adventure to come (and already dreading going back to the office). We have the know-how and background to teach others how to be confident outdoors - ask any of our friends who hike and camp with us. Why couldn’t we run our own business helping others do what this road trip was for us? Everyone deserves a relationship with nature, after all, and we loved the idea of helping others to grow their own relationship with the outdoors.
Fantasizing turned to dreaming. Dreaming turned to planning. By the end of the week, we had a pretty solid business plan, we just needed a name. We knew we wanted Environmental Education (EE) to be a part of the name and some form of the word guiding definitely needed to be included. Finally, after a few very silly iterations, we landed on GEESE (Guided Environmental Education & Stewardship Expeditions). Who doesn’t love a good acronym, right? At first we laughed. Hard. Then we did some research.
One source called geese chaotic ecological benefactors. They eat seeds and poop them other places, ultimately expanding habitat. While this is a nightmare for farmers and lawn lovers, it is quite beneficial to local ecosystems. We loved the idea of being represented by an animal incarnate of chaotic good for the planet. Geese are also fiercely loyal, mating for life and returning to their same gander after each breeding season. They are protective of their young as well as the other members of their family groups, as anyone who has gotten too close to a goose knows all too well.
We would love to foster a community that feels welcoming, supportive, protective, and open to all Geese that want to be included. It ended up feeling like the perfect fit.
Now, we are quite proud of the flock we are creating. Our goal as an organization is to make the outdoors more accessible to anyone that wants to be out here. It doesn't matter what you look like, who you love, what religion you worship, or who you vote for. We are all a part of nature and belong outside, enjoying the vast benefits of a relationship to the outdoors.

So, we invite you to take a gander at GeesExpeditions. Come along to let your silly out, knowing that you are always welcome just as you are. Take flight and... Go with the Geese!
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to connect people to the abundant natural resources in Colorado and beyond in a sustainable way for both the planet and the individual.
VISION
GeesE (Guided Environmental Education & Stewardship Expeditions) strives to provide knowledge, experiences, and resources that are beneficial to any individual experiencing the outdoors as well as for the planet. We aim to ensure these resources are accessible and enjoyable for generations to come.
VALUES
We believe every person deserves a connection to the outdoors which will enable a healthier, happier, and kinder life.
One must first learn to love nature before they will ever have the desire to save it.
Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that the lands we recreate and learn on today were originally stewarded by Indigenous Peoples that were forcibly removed from these lands. In Colorado this includes bands of the Ute Nation, the Arapahoe and Cheyenne Tribes, and other Indigenous Peoples. Their descendants, along with members of other communities, continue to be systemically excluded from outdoor spaces to this day.

As we develop relationships with these natural spaces, we are guided by the past, present, and future of Indigenous knowledge and traditions. We welcome all adventurers to join us in following Indigenous practices of stewardship and respect towards the natural world and each other as we enable people from all backgrounds to connect to this land.
